The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity. Favorite Track(s): Die Feuertaufe, Grabenlieder

Wintergrimm (vocals, guitar) and Hiverfroid (drums) from the band Drengskapur compose absolute top quality melodic black metal; they can easily compare themselves with much bigger acts like Emperor, Dissection (rip) and Satyricon (during the Nemesis Divina era). Some passages make me think of Satyricon's Immortality Passion. Not one bad song detected on the album. 10/10

Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass). Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended.
